Rosslyn Chapel Restoration and Visitor Centre

CBC were the main contractor on this Contract to restore and repair the historic, world renowned Grade A Listed Chapel and create a new build extension to accommodate additional visitor facilities. The Works to the Chapel itself involved comprehensive stonework cleaning and restoration as well as internal repairs and restoration works.

The Project also involved the construction of a new build extension, of contemporary design, to the existing Visitor Centre.

The new Timber Framed structure is predominantly glazed and provides a light, airy space to accommodate additional visitor amenities including a shop, café and permanent installations.  This element of the Project also involved the construction of traditional stone walls leading to the new structure to compliment the character and heritage of the original buildings.

The Chapel and the existing visitor centre remained fully operational throughout the duration of the works and exhaustive measures were implemented to ensure that minimum disruption was caused to  staff and visitors and to the day to day activities of the chapel.

For the delivery of the stonework package we utilised our in-house specialist stonework division CBC Stone.
