Parkhead School Restoration
We recently handed over the newly refurbished, former Parkhead School to client Glasgow Building Preservation Trust (GBPT). The Project involved the comprehensive repair, conservation and refurbishment of the Grade B Listed Victorian School in the East End of Glasgow to provide high specification office space for anchor tenant Parkhead Housing Association as well as flexible community space for use by local residents.
The School comprises two separate buildings, the first of which was constructed in 1878 and the second in 1887, and part of the Project involved the construction of a new, contemporary glazed atrium to link the two structures.
It was a key aim of GBPT to conserve and retain as many of the original features of the building including two arched windows which have been painstakingly restored and repaired.
