Paisley Town Hall

As hosts to the prestigious Royal National Mod Festival, Renfrewshire Council appointed CBC to refurbish the historic, Grade A Listed, Paisley Town Hall in preparation for the festivities.

The works comprised the conservation and repair of the external fabric, extensive roofworks and internal alterations to upgrade and entrance and foyer area.

To complete the Stonework Repairs, we carried out a full stone matching analysis and our specialist in-house team of restorers and conservers carefully selected Scotch Buff sandstone. The stone repairs were seamlessly inserted into the original fabric using specified lime mortars and lime putty pointing.

The Project also saw the remodelling of the existing entrance and foyer to create a new reception area more in keeping with the Victorian Heritage of the building.  Upgrades to improve access for visitors with mobility issues were also incorporated.

All works were carried out while the building remained fully operational and several large scale events took place while the Project was ongoing. Our site delivery team worked with Renfrewshire Council to ensure that these events were executed as planned, with minimum disruption caused.
