Kilmacolm Primary School

This Project involved the extensive refurbishment of the existing Kilmacolm Primary and Nursery School facility included a full internal upgrade of its fabric, and energy efficiency.

The layout of the school was reconfigured to create ten formal classrooms, including a fully equipped music room. The works also created six bright, open, flexible learning spaces.

The Main Hall, which provides flexible space for assemblies, functions and school performances, was upgraded and new lighting and audio technology was installed.

The under-utilised external courtyard area was also infilled to create a smaller gym hall adjacent to the main hall gym hall and a folding partition was fitted to enable the area to opened up to create a larger, more flexible space bigger events and activities for larger groups.  The dining area was also refurbished and reconfigured to allow more efficient management of the space.

Externally, a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) was installed and outdoor learning areas were created. External areas were also configured in order that noisier activities areas are carried out further away from the school building.
