Hector McNeil House

This Project transformed the former Greenock Library building, which is situated over retail units in the town centre of Greenock, into high specification office space to form the headquarters for the Community Health and Care Partnership.

The Project involved the refurbishment of one of the retail units to form a new, ground level access point to the office which could previously only be accessed via an external stairway. The installation of a lift also allowed the new facility to become DDA Compliant.

In order to conserve and retain the original features of the building our delivery team implemented a robust protection plan.  Our team also worked to conserve bas relief artwork designed by local artist Charles Anderson.

Hector McNeil House is located in the heart of Greenock Town Centre adjacent to the busy Oak Mall which remained operational throughout the works. The ground floor retail units of the facility also stayed open for business for the duration of the contract and our team implemented extensive control measures to minimise the disruption caused to building users and the general public shopping in the vacinity.
