Dumbarton Municipal Buildings

CBC Stone began work in March 2016 to upgrade the Grade B Listed Municipal Buildings in Dumbarton Town Centre.  The Project involved extensive repair and conservation work to the fabric of this historic local landmark, and the internal reconfiguration to create new office space and meeting rooms. The Council Chambers and Marriage Suite were also upgraded as part of the Project. The works included:

  • Slaterwork,
  • Leadwork,
  • Stonework Repairs
  • Repointing
  • Stone Cleaning
  • Re-carpeting throughout
  • Plasterwork
  • Reinstatement of ornate cornicing
  • Re-decoration throughout
  • Plumberwork

The Municipal Buildings remained live throughout, and the Project was executed in two phases to suit the operational requirements of the facility.

The building is located on a busy main road within the Town Centre with restricted access. A bespoke Traffic Management Plan was therefore implemented to limit and control vehicular movement in and around the Site.
