Carrochan - Headquarters for National Parks Authrority

Located in Balloch, in close proximity to the banks of Loch Lomond, Carrochan provides flexible, open plan office accommodation for staff of the National Parks Authority.

The two-storey building, which features a spectacular central glazed 'street' providing access to all the amenities, was designed as highly sustainable and the Design and Build Project was awarded an "Excellent" BREEAM rating.

The multi award winning office development boasts a number of sustainable features including a 78 metre long Douglas Fir timber frame - the largest solid natural timber frame to be constructed in the UK, a biomass primary heating system, and minimal mechanical ventilation all of which adds to the energy efficiency of the building and optimises through-life costs. A SUDS reed bed system was also incorporated to enhance environmental sustainability.

In addition to providing traditional office space, Carrochan also offers extensive facilities for use by the wider community including a library, an IT suite, state of the art conference facilities and communal meeting and activity space.
