CBC recognises that residential developments, although essentially a building, will become a person’s home. A sanctuary where they can be safe, sheltered and spend precious moments with friends and loved ones.
With this in mind, CBC work closely with our clients and designers to ensure that all our developments fulfil this function and exceed resident’s expectations for their new home.
CBC have worked with both public and private sector clients in the residential sector, completing a host of Projects for RSL and Local Authority Clients as well as Private Developers.
In terms of Social Housing, we have delivered in excess of 500 units for Housing Associations and Local Authorities in the last few years. These projects have included flats, terraced developments, sheltered accommodation and residential respite centres. For example, our Project to Design and Construct Western Harbour in Edinburgh for Port of Leith Housing Association involved the delivery of 102 flatted units while our contract for Thenue Housing Association in the East End of Glasgow was delivered in 4 phases and provided a total of 57 units comprising, flats, terraced houses, semi-detached properties and 1 wheelchair-accessible bungalow. The development also provides high specification office accommodation and a community resource facility for use by local residents.
Several of CBC’s private sector projects have also involved a mixed-use element with flatted developments incorporating retail, leisure or healthcare facilities. Our £17 Million Pr0ject to design and construct the Metropole development in Glasgow City Centre delivered 94 flatted properties for private sale and also provided extensive ground floor retail space.
However, maintaining and upgrading existing homes is just as important as building new ones and CBC also has extensive experience of undertaking residential maintenance frameworks with local authorities. We completed the £35 million “Homes Plus” Framework for GHA which delivered improvement works to over 1300 properties and the 5 year Framework to upgrade the external fabric of Stirling Council Housing Stock.
A key strength of CBC is our capabilities in refurbishment and conversion. This expertise has been applied in the residential sector on projects such as Quarrier’s Village which involved the conversion of a former laundry building to supported accommodation.
The combination of CBC’s expertise and diligence ensures that our projects are not only buildings but homes.
