Garshake Rd Office Refurbishment
Client: hub West Scotland for West Dunbartonshire Council
This project for Hub West Scotland involved the refurbishment and fit-out of the top floor of West Dunbartonshire Council’s HQ in Dumbarton.
The top floor originally housed a staff cafeteria and kitchen, and the first phase of the scheme involved the strip out of the kitchen equipment, fixed furniture, floor tiling and associated services.
The new office space was designed as an exemplar space for the Council’s Flexible Working Strategy and involves a predominantly open plan format with glazed partitions. To reduce noise levels, specialist acoustic suspended ceilings were installed.
A low profile raised floor was installed to carry services with new carpets throughout. The offices were also fully redecorated.
The scheme was delivered within a busy, operational Council office with the associated restrictions in terms of deliveries, access and car parking. A dedicated access was created with the installation of an external hoist ensuring no interface with occupied floors during the works.
Due to the requirements of the Client, the works were completed in a fast track 10 week programme.
