Renfrew Town Hall, Refurbishment and Extension

CBC were appointed by Renfrewshire Council to deliver the comprehensive refurbishment of the historic, Grade A Listed Renfrew Town Hall. The contract also involved the new build of a two-storey extension, of contemporary design, to accommodate a new Museum which charts Renfrew's history from Medieval Times to the present day.
The Works included:
The repair and restoration, or sympathetic replacement, of Windows and stained glass, decorative doors, mouldings and external stonework of the original building.
Extensive roofworks including recovering of the existing roof.
Installation of a "HAKI" Temporary Roof Protection System to safeguard the existing internal fabric and finishes.
Repair and Refurbishment of the existing services, including the strip out and replacement of the electrical, gas, heating and water installations.
Installation of a new lift to allow access to all levels.
A new build extension to the south elevation to accomodate the new Museum. This contemporary design of the extension incorporates Planar glazing and natural stonework.
For the delivery of the stonework package we utilised our in-house specialist stonework division CBC Stone.
