THE BARRHEAD FOUNDRY PROJECT

This recently completed Project involved the comprehensive refurbishment of the existing Barrhead Sports Centre and the construction of a new Build two storey Extension, of contemporary design to form a Community, Leisure and Learning Hub.
Main construction works comprised; groundworks and drainage works, erection of structural steel, installation of metal deck and concrete works, block and brickwork, renderwork, high spec RAICO curtain walling, mechanical & electrical installation (inclusive of natural ventilation sytems) and internal finishes. Also partial refurbishment works to specific ground floor areas within existing sports centre.
The new facility provides extensive services and amenities for use by the local community including:
- Enhanced Sport Facilities including swimming pool, upgraded fitness suite, Squash Courts and multi-use sports hall.
- Community Library,
- Business and Conference Suite
- Learning and IT Suite,
- Business and “Back to Work” Support Services
- A community cafe
