National Parks Authority Headquarters, Balloch – £5 Million This Design and Construction project to complete the new HQ for the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Parks Authority began in late 2006.
The Building, which features a spectacular central glazed ‘street’ providing access to all the facilities, was designed as highly sustainable and boasts a 78 metre long structural timber frame which was specially constructed from Douglas Fir.
In addition to the indigenous timber frame, the building also features a number of other sustainable elements including a biomass primary heating system, minimal mechanical ventilation and a SUDS (sustainable urban drainage system) reed bed. The incorporation of these features have helped earn the building an "Excellent" BREEAM Rating. . NEXT>>
