The Open Museum Phase 1 – Nitshill, Glasgow – £6.8 Million
The 70,000sqft repository building is the main storage facility for Glasgow’s art and artefacts when they are not on display in the city’s museums and galleries. The Open Museum houses approximately 200,000 pieces and played an integral part in the recent redevelopment of the Kelvingrove Museum by providing temporary accommodation for the majority of the collection.
In addition to the racking and extensive storage facility, the Open Museum also incorporates workshop space, exhibit areas and offices incorporating a sophisticated BMS system.

Following the successful completion of the 1st Phase of the Open Museum, we were awarded the contract for the 2nd Phase which was completed in 2008. NEXT>>
