Our Policies - Health and Safety
At CBC we understand that the Health, Safety and well-being of all our staff, operatives, subcontractors and the General public, is paramount and, consequently, we have implemented a strict Health and Safety Policy throughout our organisation. The practical application and day-to-day monitoring of our Policy and procedures is conducted by our Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) Manager Mark Rigby, who visits each of our sites every two – four weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the Project, to undertake a thorough safety inspection and ensure that all regulations are being adhered to. Mark also monitors, reviews and updates our Policy to ensure it is compliant with all relevant legislation. In addition, CBC have also implemented a Health and Safety Management System which is OHSAS 18001:2007 ACCREDITED and are also accredited under the following industry Safety Schemes:
- CONTRACTORS HEALTH AND SAFETY ASSESSMENT SCHEME (CHAS)
- ROYAL SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF ACCIDENTS (ROSPA)
Our Policies - Environmental and Sustainability
At CBC, we are committed to conducting our business in a responsible manner, considering the communities we work for and within, and reducing the impact of our operations on the environment, where possible. This commitment covers all aspects of the company’s operations.
We operate an Environmental Policy and have implemented an Environmental Management System (EMS) which is ISO 14001:2015 accredited. Mark Rigby, our HSEQ Manager, is responsible for the management and co-ordination of our EMS and conducts regular site inspections to ensure compliance with our environmental procedures.

We implement robust control procedures which aim to deliver a defect-free building and ensure that the quality of our work meets the high standards expected by our Clients. Our zero defects culture encompasses
- Strong supervision by experienced management personnel
- Selection of competent subcontractors from our approved list
- Benchmarking System to monitor quality of workmanship
- Use of Inspection and Test Plans for key trades
- Daily Inspections by Site Management
- Robust pre-inspection snagging procedures.
Our practical approach to achieving zero defects is backed up by our formal Quality Management System which is ISO 9001:2015 Accredited.

We respect the human, civil and legal rights of all and this policy sets out the standards to which we will operate to ensure these rights are upheld throughout our business. All our employees abide by these standards and we encourage our suppliers, including our sub contractors, to follow them wherever possible.
We do not discriminate against any employee on any grounds (including age, sex, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or gender) and aim to ensure that our employees have access to training, development and promotion opportunities, given their ability to perform their job role in an effective manner.
