First Minister Gives Commonwealth Games Kick Start
at Toryglen Site

The preparations for Glasgow’s Commonwealth Games got off to a running start as First Minister Alex Salmond and Sir Robert Smith, the newly appointed chairman of the 2014 Commonwealth Games organising company, paid a visit to the site of the first Regional Indoor Football Training Facility in Prospecthill Road, Toryglen.
James McAlpine, Managing Director of CBC, the main contractor for the project, and Project Manager John Reekie, led the First Minister and the Chairman on a tour of the impressive steel framed structure which, when complete, will house a full-size indoor synthetic football pitch and extensive changing and training facilities. Outside, the facility will offer three further synthetic pitches and one full-size natural pitch.
